Turaki FC Faces Off Against Black Warriors FC in Opening Match

Get ready for the ultimate showdown in Nasarawa State! The Maikaya Development Foundation Nasarawa North Peace And Unity Football Tournament is kicking off on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Central Primary School, Akwanga, and it’s going to be a blast! Turaki FC (Wamba) will face off against Black Warriors FC (Nasarawa Eggon) in the opening match, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.

The competition will feature 12 teams from Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba LGA, all carefully selected by the Football Association Chairmen from their Local Government. The teams are divided into four groups:

• Group A: Turaki FC Wamba, Black Warriors FC Nasarawa Eggon, and Young Generation Wamba
• Group B: Gudi Selected Gudi, Depot United FC Akwanga, and Nchikpe United FC Akwanga
• Group C: Stallion FC Nasarawa Eggon, Pioneer FC Wamba, and Black stars FC Akwanga
• Group D: Akwanga Selected Akwanga, Samba FC Nasarawa Eggon, and Andaha Selected FC Akwanga

According to Mr. Usman Umar, Chairman of the Organizing Committee while delivering his speech during the draws at JK Plams, Akwanga said the tournament aims to promote unity and peace through sports, which is at the core of Maikaya Development Foundation’s values. He urged all teams to play by the rules and enjoy the spirit of camaraderie that comes with the game.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

• Turaki FC vs Black Warriors: January 15, 2025
• Gudi Selected vs Depot United FC: January 16, 2025
